The digital world can be a double-edged sword.
Sometimes it can encourage us to be overly sedentary, distract us from more important tasks, or lead us down slippery slopes as we binge on online content.
However, conversely, health technology can help us to be active, focused and motivated to care for our wellbeing.
There are an overwhelming range of apps and online supports, so it can hard to know where to begin. Some useful questions to ask:
1) What do you want to achieve? The clearer you are on your goal, the more likely you are to find a digital tool that can support you.
2) Is this working for me? Apps should be a help, not a hinderance, and it may be necessary to test some options over timed periods.
3) Is this sustainable? Trying to achieve too much, or too little, can be bad for morale and it’s important that progress is balanced.
All the best with your digitally-supported health and wellbeing!
