same thing, different ways

Some things change a lot whilst other things barely change at all. If you time-traveled back to ancient history you might find a person chiselling text into stone, then later in history a library of scribes writing a message using ink on parchment, some time later again publishers using a printing press and in more recent time ideas being shared online. These methods are quite different but the essential point, communication, remains basically unchanged.

Action: When it comes to giving up old habits, or embracing new ones, we sometimes feel that we’re losing out on something important. However often we are simply looking for a better way to do the same thing. Rather than trying to convince someone not to use a fax machine, it may be better to introduce them to online communications. Similarly rather than just trying to give up old ways it can be helpful to encourage ourselves to find better ways.
