You are an individual person, however being an individual person is a little more sophisticated than it might first seem. Just like a single computer can have a number of applications installed within it, as people we typically have a number of different beliefs or perspectives. This can be a good thing, as it makes us versatile, but sometimes problems arise when we have different opinions or feelings about the same thing.
Action: Notice some of the different perspectives you’ve had on the very same thing. Sometimes these feelings vary naturally and in a way that’s helpful—for example you may feel very hungry before eating, but hate the idea of eating food after a large meal. Notice also, however, times when you’ve felt different feelings at the same time—maybe because you were conflicted about making a decision, because you felt addicted to something you didn’t really want, or because you had a fear of doing something that you really wanted to do.
