bridging

Sometimes creating change and achieving goals can be a bit of a chicken and egg scenario. If we were where we wanted to be we would have everything we need to get there. It may not be possible to make everything happen immediately but often there is quite a bit that we can do to bridge where we are now and the way we would like things to be.

Action: Consider what outcome you would like and research and imagine what it is like to have achieved that. How do you spend your day, what books or articles do you read, what people do you spend time with, what educational programmes do you get involved in, what do you prioritise? Whilst it may not be possible to do all of these things immediately, doing whatever is possible is likely to result in many benefits: we get the feeling of empowerment that comes from taking action, we get to try out at least part of our goal and see if it’s for us and we are likely to encounter other people or resources that can help us progress.
