When we have a challenge we want to overcome, sometimes we end up thinking about the problems we have experienced in the past and present, and tend to think of what we want as existing in the future. While this isn’t necessarily a wrong way of thinking about progressing, it’s is important to remember that many of the qualities that are needed in order to grow as a person have already played a part in your life up until this point.
Action: As you look back into your past, think of moments when you felt some of the feelings that you would like to feel more of now in your life. What were the feelings like in those moments, and where did you feel them in your body? By connecting with them again now, you’re reminding yourself of what you are capable of, and progress can build upon this foundation.
