preperation

We’re looking forward to helping you improve the quality of your life. The short preparation guide below will make sure you’re set up for, and get the most from, your in-personphone or video link session.

In-person sessions

Note: the guidelines below for in person sessions have suddenly gotten a lot longer due to COVID-19! You’re probably already familiar with most of the measures from visiting other public places and our aim is to make in person sessions as safe and comfortable as possible.

Before

  • We’ve adopted a high level of sanitisation at the clinic (directions here) and ask for your help in maintaining that for everyone’s wellbeing. Please make sure you’ve read and signed the provided Public Health Agreement Form before attending your in person session.
  • When travelling to and from the clinic your booking confirmation email can be used, if necessary, as evidence that you are attending an essential healthcare appointment permitted under section 15 of the Government guidelines.
  • When in the building do follow the guidance on the posted signage and avoid making unnecessary contact with objects and surfaces (and do make use of the provided hand sanitiser straight away should this happen).
  • It is recommended that clients are punctual (arriving either on time or no more than 5 minutes early) in order to avoid any overlap between sessions. Clients should attend on their own where possible–where not, the person who accompanies them is advised to wait outside the premises.
  • When you arrive at the clinic on ground floor level: if the door is closed you now have the option of either using the intercom and sanitising your hands immediately afterwards, or texting 0861715080 at your appointment time with the message ‘I’m here’ followed by your name and the door will be buzzed open for you.
  • The clinic itself does not have its own bathroom but has access (just down the hall) to a public bathroom for users of the multi-unit building in which the clinic is located. You are welcome to use this bathroom however it should be noted that, as it is public and not managed by us, we do not supervise its cleaning process. Therefore you should satisfy yourself of its suitability and make use of appropriate precautions, such as hand sanitiser. Further public toilet facilities are also provided in the area: see here for details.
  • Please at all times use hand sanitiser (provided) before entering the consultancy room, and again when leaving. If you have any sensitivity to hand sanitiser please let us know beforehand: soap and water can be used in the bathroom instead.

During

  • At the session time you’ll be welcomed into the main consultancy room where your session will begin.
  • Social/physical distancing of 2 metres / 6 feet (or as otherwise posted on signage in conjunction with future Government guidelines) is to be maintained while in the building, and any physical contact such as hand shaking is to be substituted for a warm smile 🙂
  • If you appear to be sick upon arrival at a session, the therapist reserves the right to cancel, reschedule or transfer the session to phone or video at no additional cost.
  • Loose items have been cleared from the consultancy and waiting areas. Please bring your own pen with you or use your device if you would like to take notes. Please also bring extra layers or a blanket if you prefer to use it during the session.
  • The water dispenser is currently out of operation for hygiene purposes. You are welcome to either bring your own water, or to take a complimentary bottle of water kept in the consultancy room which has not had recent contact.
  • You are asked to take any items that you have had close personal contact with, such as used tissues or water bottles, with you at the end of the session. Clients who prefer to wear a face mask are welcome to do so.
  • Where possible payments should be made electronically (just message before the session to add a debit or credit card to your account if you have not already done so). Where this is not possible just say it to your therapist at session.

After

  • After your session, arrangements will be made for any ongoing work, and any session notes and reinforcement tools will be sent to you once they are prepared—you’ll receive a notification message.

Phone sessions

Before

  • Choose a quiet and private place, find a comfortable seat and turn off any unnecessary distractions.
  • Where possible use a landline or a mobile phone with good reception. For good sound quality avoid using handsfree: earphones with a mic, or simply holding the phone are good options.
  • Take a few minutes to relax before the session start time.

During

  • At the time of your session call 01-8727347 (+353-1-8727347) and, once the call connects, press option ‘2’. You will be transferred to your session. If the number is busy just call again a moment later.
  • If for any reason your call is dropped, you will feel as you would if you lost the signal during your favourite TV show. Simply call back again—or if the call can not be reconnected—have a gentle stretch, feeling refreshed, and continue your day.

After

  • After your session, arrangements will be made for any ongoing work, and any session notes and reinforcement tools will be sent to you once they are prepared—you’ll receive a notification message.

Video link sessions

Before

  • Choose a quiet and private place, find a comfortable seat and turn off any unnecessary distractions.
  • Use either your laptop, tablet or smartphone, and either the mobile app (iOS | Android) or a recent version of Google Chrome, Safari or Firefox. Use a good broadband connection, stay close to the router if using wifi and have as few applications running as possible. You can test your connection, camera and mic by test calling a friend beforehand.
  • Take a few minutes to relax before the session start time.

During

  • At the time of your session connect with your therapist by visiting the link in your booking confirmation email or by selecting ‘Join session’ next to your session in ‘Bookings’ in your client portal.
  • Ensure your microphone is unmuted and your video is showing so your therapist can hear and see you. The speaker button on the bottom right alternates the audio between your earphones and your device’s speakers. Messaging is also available during the session.
  • If for any reason your connection is dropped, you will feel as you would if you lost the signal during your favourite TV show. Simply connect again—or if the link can not be reconnected—have a gentle stretch, feeling refreshed, and continue your day.

After

  • After your session, arrangements will be made for any ongoing work, and any session notes and reinforcement tools will be sent to you once they are prepared—you’ll receive a notification message.
